Steven Balter

Steven currently serves as the Vice President of Accounting and Controller at Hyperion, where he leads the Property Accounting efforts for the company's retail real estate portfolio. In this role, Steven is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of accounting processes to ensure accurate record-keeping and financial reporting across all properties and funds.

Before joining Hyperion, Steven was with Innovo Property Group, where he helped manage the financial operations for a $3.0B+ commercial portfolio. He played a key role in budgeting, financial reporting, and investor communications. Earlier in his career, Steven worked at Urban Edge Properties, where he was involved in corporate accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of over 80 retail shopping centers. He contributed to key transactions totaling over $300M in acquisitions and dispositions, performing detailed financial analyses and ensuring that all reports complied with industry regulations. Prior to joining Urban Edge Properties, Steven worked at PwC, where he specialized in audit and transaction services for private equity, hedge funds, and real estate clients.

Steven holds a Master’s in Real Estate Finance from New York University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Lehigh University.

Outside of work, Steven is a proud father of three young children, actively involved in his local synagogue, and a passionate sports enthusiast.
